Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This page explains what data Track My Plate collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Last updated: April 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how we, the operators of the Track My Plate iOS application ("we," "us," "our," or the "App"), handle information when you use the App. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Food photos

When you use AI photo tracking, images you capture are transmitted to our AI processing service to identify foods and estimate nutrition. Photos are processed transiently for that purpose and are not stored permanently on our servers.

Meal logs and nutrition data

Foods you log — whether via photo, text description, or manual entry — are stored so you can review your daily calories and macros.

Weight entries and goals

If you use the weight tracking feature, the values you enter, your goal weight, and related settings are stored to display progress.

Profile preferences

Custom diet, lifestyle, and goal setup inputs are stored to personalize your targets.

Usage analytics

We collect aggregated, non-personal usage data (feature engagement, session length, crash diagnostics) to improve the App.

Device identifiers

We collect a device identifier (such as Apple's advertising identifier, if permitted, or an anonymized app-instance ID) to link sessions and prevent abuse.

3. What we do not collect

  • We do not require you to provide your name or email to use the App. If you contact support, the email address you write from is used solely to reply.
  • We do not collect payment information. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

4. How we use information

  • Provide and operate core App features (AI analysis, dashboards, progress tracking).
  • Personalize calorie and macro targets.
  • Improve, debug, and secure the App.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

5. Third-party services

  • Apple: processes App Store purchases and subscriptions.
  • AI providers: analyze food photos and text descriptions to return nutrition estimates.
  • Analytics providers: deliver aggregated usage and crash reporting.

Each third party processes data under its own privacy terms.

6. Data retention

Meal logs, weight entries, and profile preferences are retained while your account is active. You can delete logs from within the App. Food photos are not retained after AI analysis completes.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact support@trackmyplate.site to exercise these rights.

8. Your rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Contact support@trackmyplate.site to submit a request.

9. Children

The App is rated 4+ and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner that would require verifiable parental consent; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
